Steps to Publish Your Audiobook

  • Locate Export Button

    In your Novels page, find the audiobook you want to export and click the "Export to iTunes" button in the details panel. This button is only visible for completed audiobooks with at least one chapter.

  • Access iTunes Connect

    Go to iTunes Connect and log in with your Apple ID

    • Ensure you have an active Apple Developer account ($99/year)
    • Navigate to the "Media Manager" section

  • Prepare Metadata

    Gather the following information:

    • Book Title
    • Author Name
    • Narrator Name
    • ISBN (if available)
    • Genre/Category
    • Book Description
    • Cover Art (1400x1400px JPEG)
    • Release Date

  • Upload Your M4B File

    Use the Media Manager to:

    • Upload the exported .m4b file
    • Verify technical specifications:
      • Bitrate: 64-256 kbps
      • Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz
      • Channels: Stereo or Mono

  • Complete Metadata Submission

    Fill in all required fields including:

    • Territory rights
    • Pricing tiers
    • Age rating
    • Content warnings

  • Review & Submit

    Apple typically reviews submissions within:
    • 3-5 business days for new titles
    • 24-48 hours for updates

    You'll receive notification via email when your audiobook is live in the iTunes Store.

    • Ensure you have distribution rights for all content
    • Apple takes 30% commission on sales
    • Metadata changes may require resubmission
    • Keep your M4B file for future updates
